The non-profit initiative Holz von Hier
HVH as holder of the eco-label HOLZ VON HIER© (HVH) resp. LOW CARBON TIMBER© (LCT) is an organization recognized by the tax office as a non-profit organization with different organs.
The central decision-making body is the Stakeholder Board of TrusteesThe central decision-making body is the Stakeholder Board, in which all relevant interest groups are represented.
The industry is involved via Advisory boardsinvolved in decision-making. These delegate elected representatives to the Stakeholder Board of Trustees.
In addition, a Expert Panelpanel of renowned experts from various fields is available to provide advice.
The operational bodies are the central EU office(Holz von Hier non-profit limited company ) and the Country Representationsin the participating EU countries.
Stakeholders Board of Trustees
The Stakeholder Board of Trustees is the decision-making body in matters of status and fundamental policy decisions. The Board of Trustees includes distinguished individuals from organizations that represent important sectors of society and strongly advocate the goals of HVH / LCT. Board of Trustees members are expected to make the basic policy decisions for HVH / LCT from your experience and to introduce and promote HVH / LCT in their spheres of influence.

Sector advisory boards
The advisory boards are the immediate grassroots co-design model for the industry and its representatives. Each advisory board elects one representative to the board of trustees. This concerns all measures that go beyond the anyway existing co-creation in the network work in joint actions and campaigns, etc. Advisory councils may also organize specialty groups or regional subgroups.
Expert Panel
Der Expertenbeirat oder wissenschaftliche Beirat hat beratende Funktion für Holz von Hier und wird bei wichtigen Sachfragen gehört. In den wissenschaftlichen Beirat werden namhafte Wissenschaftler und Experten berufen, die Holz von Hier in wichtigen Fragen mit Rat unterstützen und in diesem Bereich durch ihre Expertise Holz von Hier auch mit gestalten und voran bringen.

The partner network
Holz von HIer (resp. Low Carbon Timber) has an open and growing network of partners. Partners can be all organizations, institutions, corporations, associations, etc. that support the goals of Holz von Hier, share them in whole or in part, and are willing to support and advance them together. The operating network
Holz von Hier wird begleitet von einem wachsenden, offenen und engagierten Betriebsnetzwerk entlang der gesamten Verarbeitungskette, die Produkte aus Holz von Hier herstellen, handeln und verarbeiten. Hierdurch wird eine hohe Bandbreite an zertifiziert erhältlichen Produkten gewährleistet. Die Verfügbarkeiten entsprechender Produkte auch innerhalb der Kette werden optimiert. Das Betriebsnetzwerk ist die Umsetzungsbasis von Holz von Hier. Umweltfreundliche Produkte gibt es nicht ohne Betriebe, die sie herstellen. Das Handeln der Unternehmen und ihrer Kunden beeinflusst letztlich die Stoffströme und das Klima.
Auch wenn in einer bestimmten Region noch kein Betrieb registriert ist, bedeutet das nicht, dass zertifizierte Produkte dort nicht erhältlich sein können, weil die HvH-Zertifizierung Einzelproduktbezogen ist. Prinzipiell können sich deshalb Betrieb auch kurzfristig z.B. bei einen konkreten geplanten Bauwerk dem Netzwerk anschließen und Produkte oder Bauwerke (oder Teile davon) zertifizieren lassen, wenn die Produktion im Stoffstrom den Kriterien von Holz von Hier entspricht.

The non-profit limited liability company
Die gemeinnützige GmbH wurde nach Ende der Projektphase (ehem. DBU Projekt) gegründet und übernimmt seitdem alle Arbeiten in der Umsetzung. Sie ist das operative Organ von Holz von Hier und der Dreh- und Angelpunkt der Kommunikation. Ehrenamtliche Geschäftsführer sind die Initiatoren von Holz von Hier, Dr. Gabriele Bruckner & Dr. Philipp Strohmeier.
Die europäische Zentrale von Holz von Hier hat ihren Sitz in Oberfranken.
Daneben gibt es Ländervertretungen in Österreich und Italien (s. Fußzeilen der Webseite).

The “Vision
The non-profit initiative Holz v Hier (HVH) or Low Carbon Timber (LCT) wants to contribute to a present and future in which comprehensive conservation of energy, resources, water, climate and biodiversity are fundamental maxims of economic and social action.
The “Mission
The initiative wants to contribute by information and alternative action offers to the fact that climatic, biodiversity, energy ,water and resources careful products from the outset, as well as genuine lasting acting of all market participants in as short as possible material cycles with wood products and other nature products is increasingly converted. HVH / LCT provides the platform for communication, the community for like-minded people, and the tools for practical and economical implementation of optimally sustainable wood products.
The “Motivation
The reason for the foundation and development was anger and sadness about the often senseless, wasteful and unnecessary destruction of the basis of all our lives. Combined with the desire to show that the protection of climate, environment and resources is essential for society and economy and not a freestyle for fat years. Moreover, the conviction that this can only be achieved in cooperation between business, society and environmental protection. The personal experience that “the economy” is not heartlessly anonymous, but that especially in owner-managed companies, it is mostly people who are in charge, who think about the future, who think for their regions and who care about the environment, simply who act with heart and mind, to the best of their knowledge and conscience, in responsibility, has strengthened us in our approach. In addition, a growing concern about the growing opacity of processes in an increasingly globalized economy and increasingly global supply chains, as a driver of rampant resource consumption, was crucial. Holz von Hier (HVH) or European Low Carbon Tomber (LCT) was founded out of genuine commitment and is therefore also looking for the commitment of companies and partners.
